Jess & Abe's Romantic Blush Wedding | La Lomita Ranch

Hosted on a Spanish-style ranch in the heart of San Luis Obispo wine country, Jess and Abe's romantic blush wedding was a celebration of timeless romance. Featuring a color palette of blush, gold, champagne, and greenery, this wedding was brimming with lovely details, from the rose-covered chuppah at their ceremony to the glowing beauty of their indoor reception.

Growing up in the Santa Cruz mountains, Jess and Abe both knew each other since elementary school but lost touch when they went to separate schools for college. Several years later, when they were both in the Bay Area starting their careers, a friend reacquainted them....and the rest is history! After seven years dating, they got engaged and couldn't wait to make their life together official.

FIRST LOOKS & WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS

After a morning spent getting ready with her bridesmaids (I loved the girls' getting-ready nighties and the bride's with the fringe!), Jess stepped outside in her timeless gown for an emotional first look with her father. A few moments later, outside the equestrian barn, Jess and Abe shared a few sweet moments together during their first look, before bringing in the wedding party for pictures. The elegant dark walls of the barn made for dramatic and gorgeous wedding party photos!

CEREMONY

As guests arrived at the Spanish-style ranch, they were greeted by a welcome table in the oak courtyard. The ceremony took place in the plaza, framed by palm trees with the rolling golden hills of Edna Valley as a backdrop. The bride and groom exchanged their vows and performed the breaking of glass ceremony beneath a traditional chuppah draped in greenery and lush roses.

COCKTAIL HOUR

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to a terrace for cocktail hour. Near the bar, we spaced a number of wicker cocktail tables around the outdoor space to encourage mingling, and guests enjoyed an array of tray-passed Mediterranean-inspired appetizers. The bar served personalized cocktails inspired by the bride, the groom, and their beloved dog Barney.

One of my favorite ways to elevate a reception is to bring in lounges! These lounges, rented from Avenue Twelve, featured modern furniture with tasteful cushions, a vintage suitcase repurposed as a coffee table, and delicate bud vases with blush roses. It creates a luxury atmosphere in any space, and adds a homey touch to the decor.

RECEPTION

We held the reception within the elegant indoor Pavilion. The tablescapes were adorned with lush rose floral arrangements, an array of glowing candles, and pink-hued water glasses, which created an inviting, romantic atmosphere. Each place setting featured gold silverware and a gold-rimmed charger, as well as a menu, tucked with a sprig of lavender, inside the folds of a blush pink napkin. From the stylish comfort of the indoor lounges, to the thoughtful detail on each table, everything turned out so beautifully!

DINNER & DANCING

The band, Undercover Live, took center stage for the reception and provided a lively soundtrack for the evening as guests enjoyed dinner from Trumpet Vine Catering. As the celebration continued, guests filled the dance floor, culminating in the lively and energetic hora dance—a joyful tribute to the couple's Jewish heritage! Rather than feature a traditional cutting cake, we transformed the dessert table into a cookie bar for a sweet escape. Guests were also treated to ice cream from local Harmony Valley Creamery!
