Tara & Spencer's Winter Jewel-Toned Wedding | CASS Winery

FEBRUARY 26TH

Tara and Spencer's winter wedding at CASS winery featured warm hues and jewel-toned accent colors like merlot and emerald green, with a touch of disco for sparkle!

Bringing in the upbeat energy of live music and tasteful pops of color, all set against the natural beauty of the winter vineyard landscape, allowed us to create a special, relaxed wedding ambiance that really reflected Tara and Spencer's love for each other.

THEIR LOVE STORY

Tara and Spencer first met through Tinder! "Tara refused to date anyone from law school and was in search of someone to teach her how to rock-climb and backpack," they told me. "Spence had rock-climbing pictures and...that was that! We met up at a beer bar for some french fries and late-night free comedy, and got roasted by the bouncer when we had our first kiss in the doorway."

The ring surprise-shipped the day Spence had surgery on his hip...but thankfully when it arrived a few days later, he was able to hobble down in his crutch and sneak out the shipping box without Tara noticing. A couple weeks later, he planned a nice at-home proposal with takeout from their favorite restaurant, and hid a bottle of champagne outside the front door. "Tara was playing Zelda and hoping I'd fix her a plate, totally unsuspecting," said Spencer. "Meanwhile, the suspense was mounting and I couldn't wait any longer. So once she went to fix her plate in the kitchen, I got down on one knee while she had a fork in the Chinese broccoli. She said yes!"

FIRST LOOK

Tara and Spencer opted to do an intimate first look before the ceremony. Tara was picked up by her dad in the classic Blue Vintage CASS car, and he then escorted her to the oak ceremony tree where Spencer anxiously awaited her arrival. After some tears, hugs, and kisses, they sat in the front row of their ceremony site and read personal vows to each other. What a beautiful moment! I'm loving this new trend that allows couples to spend a few moments really soaking in each other's company and focusing on their promise to each other prior to celebrating the actual ceremony with friends and family.

CEREMONY

After Tara and Spencer said "I do," guests tossed little baggies of dried flower petals, which made for some playful and fun recessional photos!

WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS

Winter weddings with bare grape vines can still be beautiful—in fact, it allows your wedding colors to make a statement! The bridesmaids' dresses were a beautiful merlot that popped against the rustic vines and hills.

COCKTAIL HOUR

For cocktail hour on the patio, we used all the on-site lounges from CASS winery, but made them our own by renting rugs, pillows, and throw blankets in jewel-tones, so they could be cohesive with the entire wedding.

RECEPTION

We draped the ceiling to add some visual interest (without going too heavy) and embrace the warm natural hues of wine barrels around the room. I LOVED their luxurious velvet table linens that came in a deep peacock blue—the perfect pop of winter color against the gold table accents.

Dinner was plated, so we rocked a beautiful glass and gold-lined charger to greet guests upon coming to their tables. The full head table was especially fun, because it allowed the newlyweds to gather with all their favorite people over dinner.

Tara and Spencer wanted a touch of disco decor for fun, so we hung a small cluster of disco balls above the dance floor, echoed with subtle touches at the welcome table and table escort. The Class Band delivered another epic night of live music and kept everyone dancing under the disco ball all evening!
