JUNE 19th
When it came to envisioning the perfect day, Madison and Gregory wanted their love story and their love for family to shine on their wedding day. "We are truly best friends and have a lot of fun together," they shared; they wanted to convey their love for each other and their commitment to a lifelong partnership. Since Gregory is from Europe, another big priority for the newlyweds was to bring both of their families together in their celebration. Together, we created an elevated barn wedding that balanced simplicity and elegance.
CEREMONY
Framed against the stunning backdrop of the White Barn, the ceremony was both visually stunning and beautifully heartfelt. The couple also chose to incorporate a hand-fasting ceremony, a unity ritual in which the newlyweds invited five different couples, all of whom have been meaningful relationships in their lives, to come up and tie knots in the cord between them, symbolizing the couple's new unity in marriage.
RECEPTION
When it came to designing the reception, we wanted flowers to be the real decoration! We added greenery running down the long tables for a lush, full look, accented with blush and white florals. The balanced color palette of blush and navy accentuated the natural elegance of the venue. The careful placement of a variety of candles (votives, pillar candles, and tapered candlesticks) added a subtle glow to the tables. Each place setting had a menu tucked into the napkin, topped with a little jar of honey as a favor.
The dessert table was arrayed with a variety of treats, from chocolate chip cookies to macarons, but the real highlight of the night was the Sugar Lips donut truck that arrived to serve fresh mini donuts—this was a real hit with the guests!
DINNER & DANCING
My favorite part of any wedding is the evening hours, when the couple finally gets to celebrate for the first time as newlyweds! The key to a well-planned wedding day is to make space for the quiet, intimate moments between the couple, from sunset photos snapped at golden hour to their first dance together in the presence of loved ones. The fire pit lounge was an especially big hit with guests, as well, allowing friends to gather in the glow of the fire throughout the evening and reminisce on a beautiful day.
